Yet another milestone in Indiabulls Foundation’s CSR initiative is its intervention of enhancing the quality of education in the rural areas of Maharashtra. Indiabulls Foundation has provided 31 highly sophisticated E-learning systems to tribal ashram schools in Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts. A comprehensive training has also been provided to all the teachers of these school in order to enable them to use this new methodology with ease in their everyday teaching. The total beneficiaries through the e-learning module is approx. 2000 children per year.
The software installed in these systems includes Maharashtra State Board curriculum in Marathi & English medium for all subjects. This method of learning not only makes learning fun filled and interesting, but would help in improving the annual pass out ratio of the students, year after year.
Indiabulls Foundation will soon reach out to more such underprivileged schools in the state with E-learning.
The shift in worldwide computer usage and the need for computer skills in today's workforce have pushed the schools to incorporate computer education in its syllabus to ensure that students are prepared to meet the demands of the 21st century’s work environment.
On realizing this need Indiabulls Foundation, under its education thrust area, this year, is contributing 1000 computer sets to tribal ashram schools, shelter homes and night schools in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar districts of Maharashtra.
These computers help the children to enter the digital world and helps the underprivileged students become at par with the world in computer skills and IT literacy.
Internet and other basic usages of the computer are taught to the children who learn the basics of software and hardware.
We, at Indiabulls Foundation, believe that education is the single most powerful intervention for transforming lives. Hence, continuing its efforts in the area of education, Indiabulls Foundation has provided 10,000 schools bags to underprivileged students of tribal ashram schools in Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts of Maharashtra.
Children in these schools are mostly first generation learners. Lacking basic amenities, these children carry books to school in their bare hands making it difficult to maintain them especially in the monsoon season.
Indiabulls Foundation will provide schools bags to many such children in the months to come.
In the advent of making an inclusive India, Indiabulls Foundation has partnered with ‘ESHA- People for the Blind’ for their CLABIL project - Central Library of Audio Books in Indian Languages. The objective of the program is to create awareness about the online library as a self-help resource centre in Indian languages.
The project covers the beneficiary groups such as visually challenged adults and children, print disabled adults and children, older people who lose sight as they age, girl children, who may be kept away from formal education because of their gender, rural children, slum and economically disadvantaged children who do not have access to libraries or learning resources, children of Indian origin who are not familiar with the script of an Indian language and therefore the literature is lost to them, children who drop out of formal education for any reason and have no access to knowledge or literary resources.
The goal of this partnership was to originally reach around 10,000-12,000 beneficiaries during the year 2016-17, but since the start of the partnership in Feb 2016, more than 47000 beneficiaries have already been reached across cities in India that include Gurgaon, Bangalore, Bareilly, Calcutta, Noida, Raebareli and Kamrup district in Assam.
